Wesley is seven and Chet the dog is one, Wesley got Chet for his 6th birthday. Wesley likes Chet and Chet likes to eat rocks. Rocks are the best thing for a dog to eat. This is the second time Chet has eaten a big rock, well big for a dog to pass through his intestinal tract. Chet stopped eating and drinking, we do all that we can to keep him hydrated. Saturday morning I sat down with Wesley to ask the dog's owner what he thought we should do about Chet. I explained that our vet was closed and that it might cost a lot of money to get the rock out of Chet. He suggested that we pray for Chet and I suggested that we ask Dad to give Chet a blessing. Wesley agreed that for family pray, we would pray for Chet and give him a blessing. Later that day, Wesley went in his room and said a pray for Chet and brought all of his money for his older sisters to count so he could pay for Chet to go to the vet. I was amazed by a little boy willing to give all that he has for a dog. Saturday for family prayer, we said a blessed Chet in our family prayer and his dad gave Chet a blessing. Chet lives, he passed the rock Sunday morning and is eating dog food tonight. Tonight is family prayer we thanked our Father in Heaven for helping Chet and answering a little boys pray. And I will need to give Wesley back his $11.62, I tried to get him to keep it yesterday but he would not, he was pay for Chet to go to the doctor. If only I always had Wesley's faith and his willingness to give everything he has to help someone else.
Our little homestead is a work in progress. This years motto: Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, or do without! We have a sweet flock of hens, 9 children (5 are adults and visit now and then) and 3 grandkids who are a delight. We believe in the atonement of Jesus Christ, that kindness is magic, that God created a amazing world for us, and that Life is an joyous adventure!

Faith's Senior Photos
Faithie Coli aka Faith Nicole. Graduate from High School. I am not sure I like that. She did it! She is my steadfast calm child, with a loving heart and a happy smile. She is grounded and yet passionate about kindness, the gospel of Jesus Christ, geography, cultures and loves her family. She is my most Christ-like child. As she sets out on her grand adventure I know she will do well where ever she choses to go.

Update
Chicken coop is almost done, just a little paint! We are finishing the full bath in the basement and adding stackable washer and dryer hookups as well! Hoping that will help with the sale! Maybe going to check out some land in Nevada on Saturday!

I have decided to renovate this chicken coop! Not the whole coop just the big coop at the end on the right. It sits off the ground and I have some sweets hens that insist on laying eggs under it in way in the back. I find the same beautiful eggs in the same corner every day! I also have a few that lay in the far corners of the coop and not in the lay boxes. Although these are easier to obtain, climbing in and out of the coop can be a pain and I am tired of hitting my head.
So yesterday, Faith and I took the floor out of the chicken coop and are in the process of putting one on the ground! In the meantime the chickens are using the little coop, They are not happy about it at all.
